Issue with Automatic Display of PVC Fitting in Database

Hello everyone,
I’m having an issue with the automatic display of the PVC 5" fitting.
The expected result should be a PVC Tee Reducer 5"x1", but as shown in the picture ,it is displayed as a PVC Tee Reducer 4"x1" instead.

This problem does not occur with fittings smaller than 5" (see attached image).

I’ve also attached a sample of the database I created for reference.
For context, I added both fittings and PVC pipes to the database, with most of the information being the same. The only differences are the Name, Code, and Diameter.

I’m not sure where the issue originates—could you please help me figure it out?

The issue is caused by that junction being where the submain changes size from 5" down to 4".
The internal rules make IRRICAD select the 4" tee and a 5" to 4" reducer.
The options are:-
A. Make the submain size change downstream from the lateral connection by placing another junction on the submain and then change the piece between the lateral junction and the new junction to 5" pipe.
B. You can change the rule in the registry so that an intermediate size, between the largest and 2nd largest size, is no longer selected:-
1. First open a new design go to
Design|Parameters|Economic Parameters.
2. Click the
[Save As Defaults] button and close IRRICAD. This will create the necessary registry entry.
3. Now run
Regedit in the Windows "Search" field and then click on the "Registry Editor" program.
4. In the registry editor's left-hand panel locate and click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AEI Software\
Irricad\DesignParameters\
Economic for Standalone, or HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AEI Software\
Irricad BCAD\DesignParameters\
Economic for IRRICAD Link for BricsCAD, or HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AEI Software\
Irricad ACAD\DesignParameters\
Economic for IRRICAD Link for AutoCAD.
5. In the right-hand panel locate the
TeeSelectionFactor.
TeeSelectionFactorRegistry.png
6. Double-click on
TeeSelectionFactor and modified as required. To make IRRICAD select the largest size (in this case a 5" x 1" tee) change the "Value Data" to
1.0.

I used Option B and it worked. However, I’ve encountered the same issue with fittings that are PVC to LDPE sized 2" and above. For fittings sized 2" and below, this problem does not occur.

From the picture, the expected result should be a PVC Saddle Clamp 5"x3/4".
Can I apply the same method to fix this issue? If so, what Value Data should I use?

As I suspected, your "PVC Clamp" is in the "Lateral Takeoffs" component group.
Lateral takeoffs are a special kind of fitting that doesn't require individual entries for each submain size. These are typically grommets with their lateral takeoff fittings, because the same item can be inserted into any size of submain down to a specified minimum size.
The "Minimum Submain Diameter" means that the item can connect to any submain of the same type and any size above, including the size you have entered. Therefore "50mm" means "connect to 50mm and above if the pipe type matches and the lateral matches".
I had not completely realised (despite the images!) that in your earlier post your "Tee Reducers" were actually in the "Lateral Takeoffs" component group instead of the expected "Tees" component group.
Any 'three-way' fitting that is specific to a pipe size should be entered into the Tees component group.

From my testing, if I add “Tee Reducers” to both the “Tees” component group and the “Lateral takeoffs” component group, the display works correctly.
As shown in the picture from my previous post, “Tee Reducers” and “Reducers” are grouped together. However, if I don’t include “Tee Reducers” in the “Lateral takeoffs” group, the display will appear as shown in this image.

With tees in the Tee component group, you will also require reducers and couplers in the Couplers component group to cope with the junctions that have a change in submain size.
Therefore, between 4" and 5" you will need a tee (a 5" x 1.5" tee appears to be your preference) and also a reducer to go from the 5" female tee to the 4" male pipe.
Another helpful tip is to add 'pieces of pipe' to the Couplers component group, e.g add Plain Male PVC Coupler, in all sizes. This will help when needing to connect two female fittings, as IRRICAD will not go to the Pipe component group to select a small piece of pipe to do this.
