Hi ya'll,

If I have a txt file that i want to import into Irricad but it's not in the formats from the drop-down list that pops up when you specify your text file-how can i import the elevations? Our text file has the following order: Point #,x,y,z,Point description. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Samantha

Hi Samantha,

It sounds like the option you want to select is:
ID,X,Y,Z
CSV.png
If each line in the txt file has a unique ID then the elevations are spot heights. If this is the case uncheck the "Import as polylines" option.

Rgrds,

Jo

Jo,

Actually, I tried each option in the drop-down list and none worked. Do I have any more options? Is there anything else that I can do on my end? Thank you in advance,

Samantha

Hi Samantha,

If the data is spot height data but the "Import as polylines" option is checked, there will be no layers in the list of imported layers to select as the elevation layer and therefore no data will be imported. If you are still having trouble with the file, please send it to your local IRRICAD support or to us to have a look at.

Rgds,

Jo

Hi Samantha,
odt.jpg
This message indicates the numbers are too large to be Longitudinal numbers. This suggests that either the data is not in Latitude/Longitude format or that the wrong field order was selected during the importing of the file.

If the data is indeed Latitude/Longitude confirm the order of the information in the file and select the appropriate field order.
