Elevations /Contours

Hi Folks.
When importing elevations from Google Earth is it possible to have the elevation points default to GE elevation layer so that they are not viewed with the contours on the same layer?

Also when generating labels for the contours, is it possible to have the labels default to the elevation layer rather than the Irricad layer? So that when the contour layer is turned off the labels will also be turned off?
Cheers

Hi John,

For your first question, I don't think there's a way to import GE elevations onto a different layer other than Elevations. I generally move the heights from the Elevation layer to another layer before calculating the contours. Alternatively, you can leave them on the default Elevation layer and create the 'calculated contours' to another layer.

For the labels, you can set that up in your settings. In Setttings>Labels, You can choose the Elevations layer from the dropdown box.

John,

Are you using Standalone or Link? In Link you can specify different default layers for contours and spot heights individually in Irricad Options|Layers - providing the required layer is existing of course.
