GE Import suddenly stopped working

Hello,

Just recently, the GE Import tool has stopped working. The window pops up when I select "Import from Google Earth..." on the File menu, and it gets as far as to show the search bar, but then stays as a white screen. I have followed the previous guide on what to check for GE Import issues, and tried running on a separate hotspot, but the issue still occurrs. I also tried creating a new Maps API key just in case something was up with my previous one.

Do you know if there have been any new changes to the Maps API again? Let me know what additional info you might need, but I am currently working with the standalone version back on V15.

Hi Corey,

One thing to check...has the credit card associated with your API key expired?

Hey Dan,

I checked the credit card currently associated with my API key and it is not expired. Just to confirm that it has nothing to do with the Network at my office, I'm going to take my laptop home tonight and try it there in case I missed something on my previous attempt at using a hotspot.

Let me know if there is any other info I can look for that might suggest what the problem is.

I am also having the same problem when I want to import elevations from Google Earth

I have been experiencing the same problem for several days with version 17. I have checked the credit card on my google account, switched to a different Internet source and even changed API keys with no success.

Also having the same problem with GE imorts. I have checked the payment method and gone so far as to get a new API number also. Running V17 Stand Alone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some years ago we updated the web browser technology in the more recent versions of IRRICAD. Versions before V18 use an older technology which, beyond our control, appears to have been blocked and consequently the “Import from Google Earth function” no longer works in these versions.

We are investigating possible solutions for this issue but the fastest solution would be to upgrade your IRRICAD version. If your licence is eligible for Version 18 or higher please install that now. Alternatively contact your local IRRICAD distributor for a quotation to upgrade to the latest version which will provide the latest features along with 12-months of priority support.

Hi Support,

I upgraded to standalone v16 years ago because of the Google Earth import feature. (I think I was using standalone v13 prior).
I am currently stuck with designing current projects without Google Earth image & elevation estimations. :(

As I am time restricted I need immediate clarification about your statement "we are investigating possible solutions for this issue"?
Yes I am overdue for an update (and a design) - it's a great product, but not possible for me to update this week. I really need this working 3 days ago!

Please advise me (and others) of your investigations into the "possible solutions" you mentioned ASAP?
I am concerned that your product relies on a MAJOR feature you are NOT informed about by Google Earth prior to changes - Why?

This issue is commercially significant for me.

I look forward to a mutually beneficial and more importantly quick response to this immediate issue.

What was the resolution to the issue? Mine is still not working and I have not seen any resolution. Did i miss it somewhere?
