Re: how to design an over head foggers system?

Hi Ari, Yes, applying the principals I mentioned to your drawing:- Mainline Depth 500mm Control Valve Depth -1000mm Submain Depth -2500mm Lateral Depth -2500mm Riser for outlets: "Height Above Ground" will be 2.1m, "HL Equivalent Length" will be length of connector from lateral to outlet = 0.4m. The...

Re: Connectivity issues with multiple common supplies

The likely cause is your management - you are probably assigning the water supply to supply water to a zone that it is not connected to, as per forum post https://www.irricad.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?p=676#p676. Note that the Check Outlet Connectivity function checks that each outlet is connected to...

Re: how to design an over head foggers system?

Hi Ari, In general, for outlets to be off the ground you will need to use an Outlet Connector (Riser), even if they are connected directly to an elevated pipe. The Outlet Connector database dialog asks for "Height above Ground" - this will be the height of the outlet. It also asks for "HL Equivalent...

Emission Uniformity Equations

IRRICAD uses the emission uniformity equation that is the same as the ASABE version except that it uses the mean of the lowest 25% of emitter flows rather than the lowest value:- EmissionUniformity.png If you would prefer to use the ASABE version where the lowest value is used then download the modi...

Re: Travel time report

Hi,

Did you first turn on "Calculate Travel Times" in Design|Design Parameters - Misc Parameters? Then re-run Analysis / Detailed Analysis.

This setting is off by default because on large designs it can slow down the processing speed.

Re: how to edit the number sequence of nodes?

Unfortunately elevations cannot be exported out of IRRICAD Standalone to DXF for DWG file directly - you would need to use IRRICAD Link for this, where the IRRICAD Link designs are natively in DWG format. However, in IRRICAD Standalone you can export to KML file and there are free KML to DXF / DWG c...

Re: Exporting file to load into Google Earth

There is no direct entity translation for a text box in KML, making exporting labels visually a bit tricky. This is the reason you can export the label contents as either the name or the description of the entity (or both) when exporting to a KML file. So, for instance, if you export the Description...

Re: how to edit the number sequence of nodes?

Hi Marcio, There are two ways to do this:- - In Version 18 or 19 Use the label #UIDOFFSET# to reduce the size of the node number (UID) by the number of imported items. To do this follow the steps in Help|Release Notes - Previous Additions and Bug Fixes -> In Version 18 -> Label Enhancements -> New L...

Re: Deep well direct pumping

Hi Marcio, It isn't important to IRRICAD where the pump is actually placed down the well, but where the water level is sitting below ground level. Set the water supply pressure to mirror the water level (for example, -10 equals 10m below the ground level) for the pump to be able to supply the correc...

Re: DBS 1 Error Loop

Note that after placing an item if the description is in red text like this:- RedDescription.png AND you have 'Cleaned' the database ( Tools|Clean Fields and saved it) then the issue is caused by one of the item's parameters. This means that because the parameter can not be copied in its existing fo...

Re: DBS 1 Error Loop

This message occurs because the item has changed in the component (external) database and no longer exactly matches the item that was used in the design, which is present in the design's internal database. To fully update the internal database you will need to select the items as many times as asked...

Run Length Calculator Doesn't Display Properly

If the Tools|Run Length Calculator dialog looks too small or the text looks too large then the cause could be the screen resolution. This will need to be adjusted manually in Version 19 via the Registry. Therefore, the steps are: 1. With IRRICAD closed go to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AEI S...

Re: Irrigation Block Label Frame too small

Hi Ari, The irrigation labels in IRRICAD Standalone are created very differently to how AutoCAD would, being Visual CADD symbols, therefore there is little correlation between the two. For users who are converting between IRRICAD Standalone and IRRICAD Link we always recommend that the hydraulic lab...

Re: Connectivity issues with multiple common supplies

Thank you for sending through the design. The issue in this particular design is that one of the water supplies is not connected. If you turn on the mainline junctions you will see a junction in the middle of the water supply. For tips on finding connectivity issues see our Tips forum posts https://...

Lineweights in IRRICAD Link

The display of lineweights is controlled via the “LWT” on the status bar (BricsCAD) or by entering LW in the commandline (AutoCAD). Default lineweights for future mainline and zone pipes can be set in Irricad Options|Irrigation – Design Specific . The issue with seeing lineweights in the layout or p...

Re: Mainline design to pressure rating

The pipe pressure rating is only determined after IRRICAD selects the suitable pipe size. In your example, if the selected pipe size is not available in 16 atm then it will select the highest pressure rated pipe available in that size. If there is a 16 atm pipe available in the selected pipe size th...

Note that these steps have been largely replaced by the Alternate Geodetic Datums option added in Version 17, allowing you to specify the coordinate system or projection that the survey data is in.

Re: Elevation's data are lost once the design is exported

As IRRICAD Standalone is a 2D program the elevations data cannot be exported out to DWG or DXF file. However, the elevations can be exported out in a KML file - remember to enable the "Export Elevations" option. There are free online KML to DXF converters, some working better than others. Alternativ...
