Cannot use snap to parallel with the double line tool

I'm trying to use the double line tool for the creation of offsets but when using the double line tool and then trying to use snap to parallel to draw parallel to an existing drawing item the snap does not work and the double line is drawn to the point that I click on rather than allowing me to draw parallel to the selected object.

Hi Brent, there does indeed seem to be a problem here, which we can look in to. In the mean time, would the Offset Copy tool help? See this topic SPEEDING UP COPY TOOLS in the tips forum.
