Hi, I am having a problem importing the desired field view from Google Maps.
The image I select in the import window doesn’t transfer back to Irricad in the same view as the import view. It often crops part of the desired field out of view or shifts the whole image so the field is partially out of view. I believe the coordinates are still accurate, it just shifts the image (usually up) enough that the field I am trying to import is partially out of view. I am having to over estimate the image view and import the image several times and at much larger sizes in order to get the desired field in view in Irricad. I don't want to import larger images because the resolution is much less when I zoom into the desired field in Irricad.
Is it possible to import the Google Maps image using a 2 point rectangle without proportionate dimensions?
Or is it possible to import the Google Maps image using lat/long coordinates?
I have checked the IrricadGEImport properties in the compatibility. I have also checked the the Dpi scale in the .ini file. The dpi scale does not exist in the IrricadGEImport.ini file or the vcadd.ini

Re: Google Maps Import Utility
The IrricadGEImport.ini file was still the original ini file for the original Import from Google Earth utility. To update this for the new settings re-download the new utility from http://www.irricad.com/irricad/download ... Esetup.exe and re-install it into the Irricad folder.
Alternatively, to avoid downloading the large installation again you can simply download the ini file from http://www.irricad.com/irricad/download ... Import.zip, extract the ini file from the zip file, and manually overwrite the existing ini file your Irricad folder.
Note that if you have previously obtained an API key you should keep a copy in a safe place as re-installing the utility will overwrite your existing .ini file.
Note the new utility does not have a lock ratio on the selection rectangle.

Re: Google Maps Import Utility
Hi all.
I have imported two images: 1) GeoTiff in back and 2) Google earth Image in front. Image 1) I have checked and I am sure is OK. Image 2) is somehow deformed. I have downloaded the latest IrricadGEImport.ini file.
Any ideas? Thanks

Re: Google Maps Import Utility
How do you mean 'deformed''? Do you mean that the google earth image does not line up exactly with the top geotiff image? This could happen if the projection of the UTM coordinates in the geotiff file are not the same, for example not WGS84. If you email the geotiff file to us at Support@IRRICAD.com we will have a look to find the potential cause of this.

Hi Jo
Thanks for your prompt respond. Yes I mean that Google Image does not have the right UTM conversion and it comes out deformed in the Irricad screen.
I have sent the Geotiff image by e-mail. It weighs 8 MB so if you do not receive it, let me know to send it by other way.

Re: Google Maps Import Utility
Javier,
We have received your Geotiff image and have no problem with matching it with the imported Google Earth image. We now notice that your Google Earth image above has the Google Earth logo on it. This is the old utility that was known to have some issues because of the Google Earth plugin api. Google is stopping the Google Earth plugin soon and we have already created a new utility. To update the IRRICAD Import from Google Earth utility download the new utility from http://www.irricad.com/irricad/download ... Esetup.exe and install it into the Irricad folder.
Does this solve the issue?
