Unintended layer merging when importing multiple drawings.

Post by ATrafford »

Im having an issue where i am importing two versions of the same drawing and irricad is automatically merging layers. Initially I thought it was because many of the layers had the same name, so i changed all of the layers to different names and it still merged all of the layers with similar names.
Is there a setting to turn off automatic layer merging?

IRRICAD is meant to merge layers if the names are the same when importing drawings. This function cannot be turned off.
Do you mean that you edit the layer names after the first import, for example "LayerName1" to "LayerName1Original" and that when you import the drawing again there is no new layer called "LayerName1" that only contains the 2nd imports items? This appears to work in Version 14.16 + - what version are you running?
In earlier versions the layers were merged by internal layer number not name so running the latest V14 patch or upgrading to Version 15 will fix this issue.
