Valve conectivity

Post by jbaselga »

Hi,
I just have downloaded patch 15.08. I have been working normally for few hours. But suddenly I have started having problems connecting to control valves. When I tray to connect a cutpipe, zonepipe or any other mainpipe, it just does not connect to the valve.

Any idea why is this happening? Thanks

Hi,

The first thing to check is that the default snap mode is "Connect" rather than "Place". You can see this on the bottom right of the status bar or in Settings|Snap.

Otherwise this sounds like the valve in question thinks it has enough connections or the junction is in a strange state.
If you use Tools|Object Info on the valve does it list 4 sets of numbers (item UIDs) or less than 4?
If it lists 4 sets of numbers where there should be less than 4 there may be a short piece of pipe connected to the valve that needs to be removed.
If it lists less than 4 numbers run File|Repair. If this does not fix the problem please email the design to Support@IRRICAD.com and we will have a look.

Hi Jo,

Thanks a lot for your rapid answer. As always, you are right. The snap mode was as "place" instead of as "connect". I had a problem with the bottom windows status bar (it was wrongly fixed) that I could not see the Irricad bottom bar. This is not an excuse, but I am glad it was this stupid thing instead of a problem with the design or latest update.
Again, thanks a lot for your support. I think Irricad team is doing a great job.

Regards
