There appears to have been a change in the way that Google allows programs to access the imagery and elevation data. We are not yet sure if this is temporary or permanent however getting an “API key” for each user or group will ensure that the Import From Google Earth utility will work. Please follow the below steps to obtain an API key:-

1) Go to https://developers.google.com/maps/docu ... et-api-key and scroll down until you see the “Get Key” button. Click the “Get Key” button.

2) Log in to your Google account, or create one.

3) A dialog will appear. Enter a project name (this can be anything) e.g. Irricad

4) Then click the “Create and Enable API” link. An API key will be issued.

5) Save this API key somewhere safe so that if it is required again you will not need to generate a new one.

6) Browse to your installed IRRICAD Pro folder, commonly located in C:\Program Files (x86)\AEI Software\Irricad Pro 15, and locate the IrricadGEImport.ini file. Open this file in Notepad.

7) Locate the entry “GMApiKey=” and add the API key that was created in step 4. Your ini file should now look similar to this:-

8) Save the file.

9) Now Import from Google Earth is ready for use.

Notes:
- One API key can be used for a group/branch.
- If using the same API key for multiple users note that the limits as described in http://www.irricad.com/phpbb3/viewtopic ... =507#p1148 may more likely be reached.
- Higher quotas may be purchased. Monitoring of the usage can be done from your API dashboard.
- If you need to re-install the Import from Google Earth utility at any time your API key will be lost as your existing .ini file will be overwritten. Keep your API key in a safe place as per step 5.
- Note that upgrading your version of IRRICAD may also overwrite the .ini file.
