56. Saving Queries Between Updates

Post by jovivier »

Upgrading your IRRICAD version with the "Remove Older Versions" option (recommended) will overwrite some files that you may wish to keep.
One such file is the Queries.irq file that contains all the queries present in the database.
If you have written your own queries and saved them then you will probably wish to retain the existing Queries.irq file.
It is a good idea to make a copy of the file when you make changes, so that you don't need to remember to make a copy before upgrading.

1. Browse to the installed IRRICAD folder, commonly located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Irricad\Irricad Pro XX.
2. Locate the Queries.irq, highlight it and copy it.
3. Browse to the location to keep the copy. I use the main Irricad folder for these types of files, C:\Program Files (x86)\Irricad.

Note that with files like this irq file, a new upgrade may include new information or adjusted information so the upgrade action is to overwrite the existing file.
