Addressing Nominal Pressure Alarm in Air Valves PN10 & PN16

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to seek your guidance on an issue we're encountering with our irrigation system, which involves a significant number of air valves rated PN10 and PN16.

Recently, we've been overwhelmed by a flood of alarms indicating that these fittings are operating without their nominal pressure. Given the extensive quantity of valves, the volume of alarms is quite substantial, leading to a considerable amount of time being spent on reviewing logs to verify the affected valves.

This situation has brought to light the need for an improvement in our database management, specifically incorporating the nominal pressure (PN) data of each fitting to streamline the troubleshooting process. Could you advise on the best approach to modify our database structure to include this critical information? Moreover, is there a more efficient method to manage and respond to these alarms to prevent the loss of operational time?

Any insights or suggestions you could provide would be greatly appreciated. We aim to enhance our system's efficiency and reduce the time spent on identifying and resolving such issues.

Hi Sergio,

Unfortunately, we are not sure what you mean? Misc. Hydraulic items do not have pressure or pressure rating fields or warning messages. The only messages given would be above or below the flow limits or for PRVs when there is not enough upstream pressure.

If you would like to send us an example we will look at this when we get a chance. Or for priority support please upgrade to the current version.

Hi Sergio,

Thank you for the required information, that is the red asterixis in the Pipe and Pipe Node reports that you are referring to.
As Misc. Hydraulic items do not have a maximum allowable pressure field in the database therefore this is zero "Allowable Pressure" column in the Pipe and Pipe Node reports. Because the pressure through the valve is greater than zero these items will always be marked in the report with red asterixis, but can be ignored. Note that they do not cause screen messages during the design process.

It will be possible to suppress the asterixis against the Misc. Hydraulic items in the report templates. I have added this to our schedule to do when we have time and will let you know when the custom reports is available.

We have created two replacement reports will that will suppress the "Over Pressure" markers for any Misc. Hydraulic items in the Mainline Pipe Node and Node Name reports.
1. Download

PipeNodeReportsRepressedMHmarkers.zip

2. Save the zip file to a location of your choice.
3. Browse to the location from step 2 and double-click on the zip file to open it.
4. Select and drag the two FPC files in the zip to your IRRICAD \Reports folder, commonly located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Irricad\Irricad Pro XX\Reports. Note that the default reports will be over-written by these new reports.
