Hi Ari,
As per "Opening Version 21 Files in Other Versions of IRRICAD" in the Irricad Release notes, you first need to export your design from Standalone as an "AutoCAD Conversion File (*.daz)" using File|Export. This can then be imported into Link using the IRR_FILEIMPORT command Irricad Import|Import Conversion).

Dan

Re: how to open standalone file(.DEZ) in link?
Hi Dan and thanks for the answer.
I have 2 more questions:
1. when exporting a desgin from the stand alone version I can choose "Autocad Conversion Files (*.DAZ)" Or "Autocad Conversion Files (Link V20 *.DAZ)" or older versions.
when choosing "Autocad Conversion Files (*.DAZ)" the link fails to open it giving error "OOP1" not recognizing objects.
the "Autocad Conversion Files (Link V20 *.DAZ)" works fine.
is this normal that I need to use "Autocad Conversion Files (Link V20 *.DAZ)" and not "Autocad Conversion Files (*.DAZ)"?
2. is there an "Export" routine from the DWG link file to DXF file, converting the irricad objects to CAD objects like there is in the stand alone version?
the only way I could do it (after getting help from Bricscad support) is to save it as an old version DXF file (I used 2010 DXF format).
thanks,
Ari.

Re: how to open standalone file(.DEZ) in link?
HI Ari,
1). Yes this is normal. Some changes were necessary in the latest version of Standalone to accommodate the Pivot module. The current version of Link doesn't know about the Pivot module, and thus gives errors. Unfortunately, there isn't really a very graceful way around this until we can release Pivot for Link (coming soon we hope!).
2). Saving as DXF should decompose the Irricad objects to their base types in Link. I'll investigate, but certainly saving as an older version of DXF, as you discovered, should trigger the export.
Regards,
Dan
