How to Send a Crash Report Manually When SMTP is Disabled

Post by jovivier »

When an issue occurs in IRRICAD which shuts down the program it is important to send us the session and error logs, along with a copy of the design (if you are happy to do so), and a detailed description of what you were doing when it crashed so that we can find the cause of the problem.
The automatic crash report system requires an installed Email program in order to send us the crash reports. If you use webmail or you receive an error "Sending error report over SMTP is disabled" when trying to send the crash report email then please follow the below process.

1. When the crash dialog pops up click on the link “What does this report contain”.

2. Now click the [Export] button – this will save the contents to a zip file.

3. In an email attach:-
a) the zip file from step 2
b) the design

4. Include a description of what you were doing when it crashed and at what point it crashed (e.g, was changing the submain pipe location in the "Area 2-2" irrigation block dialog from computer selected to a 50mm PN6 pipe. It crashed when I clicked on OK).

5. Send the email to Support@IRRICAD.com
