Wish - 3rd Set of Labels

Post by nickvnlr »

I would like to be able to set a 3rd set of labels as a standard for drawings. Many times I have labels above manifolds and labels below manifolds. I also use a third category of pipe labels for existing manifolds or flush manifolds. The same applies to mainlines. I frequently have existing mainlines, transport lines (non-filtered), and standard mainlines.
This makes it near impossible to use the "Update Labels" if I need to make some tweaks because it undoes whatever special formatting the extra label style had.
It would be nice to be able to have a third label set available to cover the extra uses without having to manually change the format. It would also make label updates more predictable.

Hi Nick,

It may help to save your preferred label configurations to file (via the Label Settings dialog), so that you can easily re-load them instead of manually changing the formats.

Also be aware that you can selectively update labels by making a selection before (re-)applying "Create Labels" (i.e., this will only update the labels for the selected entities). In addition, unchecking "Use Label Set 1' and/or 'Use Label Set 2' will exclude those labels from the 'Create' and 'Update' processes.

Hopefully, a combination of these techniques will make the updates more predictable for you.

Regards,

Dan

I have several configurations saved for different scenarios and the work arounds described work, but it would be nice to have a 3rd set loaded in the program and not need to do many (any?) work arounds.

Thank you.
