what is an object?

Post by aquacg »

Hi, I'm having a problem with irricad changing a hydraulic item such as a tape block into an object. When I double click on the side of a tape irrigation block, irricad sees the block as a simple object and I can't access the block properties. I have to save the design and re open the design without shutting down irricad. It works right once I do this, but this becomes a big hassel when I have to access block properties multiple times to get the design right. Once irricad makes this mistake, it occurs on all the tape irrigation blocks in the design.

Is there a better way to access tape irrigation blocks to change the properties within that block? Thanks.

A quick and easy way to bring up the Irrigation Block entity dialog is to hold the the ALT key and double-click on a lateral. Note the IRRIGATION_AREAS layer needs to be on for this.

If there is a polygon underneath the block entity Area this could be what is selected rather than the Area.
Another reason could be that something else is also highlighted. It is difficult now to have a highlighted item on a layer which is turned off but under certain circumstances it could still be possible.

If you are still having an unexplained issue please let us or your local support team know.

Kind regards,

Jo

Hi Corby,

In addition to Jo's suggestion, you might also find it useful to use the 'near-by' selection menu. If you hold the CTRL key while using the Selection tool, Irricad will show a menu of the entities close to the point you clicked. Selecting an entity on the menu selects it in Irricad. This makes it easier to select items that are very close together.
