Multiple water supplies

Greetings IRRICAD team,

We have a project with 10 water supplies. 1-8 have 8 zones each and 9-10 have 9 zones each.
Water supplies are not connected, each runs their assigned zones, one at a time.
We plan to run 10 zones at the same time, one zone for each water supply.
So in this situation we will have 9 system flows, 8 system flows with 10 zones and the 9th with the remaining 2 zones belonging to water supply 9 and 10.
Is there a solution in IRRICAD that allows us to set up our system flows as i have explained above? Or is the only solution to have 82 system flows and assign each individually?

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

When running separate systems in the same design you must ensure that the system flows are different between the water supplies.
Although these may operate at the same time physically each water supply requires its own set of system flow numbers.

For your design, depending on how the zones were entered, you could:-
1. if entered in a sequential order, run Assign Zones to a Unique System Flow and then edit the system flows for each water supply. If the zones are non-sequential you would have to know which zones are attached to which water supply. Note that instead of entering each system flow individually when assigning the water supplies you can use negative numbers to denote a group.

2. use Design|Other Management Options|Zone Operating Times and Design|Other Management Options|Water Supply Times if this is quicker for non-sequential zones. A quick divider for the different water supplies could be the "day" they run on to ensure none overlap.

3. use partial management. Instead of assigning all zones, just assign the ones that will have the biggest impact on the water supply duty.

4. have 10 designs and use Assign Zones to a Unique System Flow. Then merge all designs into the one design.
