Hi.
I´ve been working with export to DXF files before with no problems on AutoCAD 2022. Now I am working on a DWG file that does not work on AutoCAD 2022 IrriCAD Link, I can´t share my files.
Would you help me please?
I am using IrriCAD Link version 20.22.06 on Windows 10 Enterprise.
Thak you.

Re: Exporting to DXF file does not work...
Hi Pancho,
Unfortunately your problem is not very clear.
How does it not work? Is the open DWG failing to create a DXF file when using Save AS and selecting a DXF file type?
Have you tried running AUDIT before saving to DXF?
If your issue persists you can send your design to your local IRRICAD Support Team for investigation.
Note that when using the current version of IRRICAD you are eligible for priority support so please email your local Support Team directly.

Re: Exporting to DXF file does not work...
Hi again.
Yes the opened DWG file fails to create DXF file when I use Save As to export it to DXF file.
I tried to run AUDIT before to save it to DXF file with no positive results.
I sent an email to Support Team at support@irricad.com today with a new design file with the same problem.
Thank you.

Re: Exporting to DXF file does not work...
This works ordinarily.
You should receive the popup message:-
"FILE FORMAT - Saving to this format is not supported for Irricad entities" where you needed to click OK to proceed.
Then receive the message:-
"This action will create a copy of the design with Irricad data removed."
All IRRICAD items will lose their IRRICAD properties and simply be lines and symbols. This makes the design easier to open for someone who does not have IRRICAD Link, as the IRRICAD items will no longer be proxy items and can be edited as normal drawing objects.
I have received your file and this appears to create a DXF in AutoCAD 2023 that can then be opened in plain AutoCAD. (I've yet to try it in Civil 3D but hope to be able to shortly).
Please confirm that you are seeing the above messages when using Save As or DXFOUT?
Please confirm that a DXF file is not being created at your end?
If no DXF file is being created, before saving to DXF file convert all the C3D objects to AutoCAD objects by using the AECTOACAD command. Does this solve your issue?

Re: Exporting to DXF file does not work...
I see both messages you showed me in the same window and I click ok, after this step the last message in the command dialog box is the following error message:
DXF read error on line 1125261.
I tried with AECTOACAD command and it created an other DWG file, in this new DWG file I run DXFOUT command with no DXF file created. Thank you.

Re: Exporting to DXF file does not work...
The issue could be related to an object in the drawing, which is why we suggested auditing and making the C3D objects into AutoCAD objects.
Have you tried saving to an older DXF version?
We are still in the process of setting up Civil 3D 2022 here, hopefully this will be available tomorrow.
Another thing you can try is to open in normal Civil 3D (without the IRRICAD profile) and save to DXF. Does this work?
Alternatively, with the drawing that has had the C3D items converted to ACAD items (AECTOACAD), open in Plain AutoCAD (without the IRRICAD profile) and try to save as a DXF file. Is this successful?
(If you want to know how to run AutoCAD or Civil 3D without the IRRICAD profile see the Link forum post "How To Run AutoCAD or BricsCAD without IRRICAD Link" (viewtopic.php?p=2140#p2140).
Can you tell us what end result you require?
1) For someone to look at and perhaps make notes on then send back to you.
Do not export but send the IRRICAD Link DWG file, this is retained as an IRRICAD design. The ‘looker’ will not be able to change any IRRICAD things as they will be proxy objects, however, they can notate and draw in new lines, etc., if required. Then you can open the file they send back as an IRRICAD design for any further changes.
Or
2) For someone to be able to make changes to the IRRICAD items.
Export to DXF, which will render the IRRICAD items to lines and symbols and therefore editable.
Use this method if you are not expecting the file back, as this will no longer be an IRRICAD design with IRRICAD items.
I trust this helps.

Re: Exporting to DXF file does not work...
Dear Jo.
I'm also having an issue with this. When exporting from a DWG IRRICAD Link file to DXF I'm receiving this warnings:
And if I send the original DWG IRRICAD Link file to the client, he cannot see the IRRICAD objects. They desappear.
Thanks.

Re: Exporting to DXF file does not work...
Hi Jabes,
The INPT 109 message is expected - this reminds the user that saving to DXF file will remove the 'irricad' part of pipes and outlets and only leave the geometric part of the objects. Then when opening in plain AutoCAD or BricsCAD these items will not be proxy objects and therefore will be editable. If, however, you need to retain the 'irricad' properties then this message reminds the user not to save to DXF format.
Your second message "Error: Failed to Save File. Vetoed" will appear if you try to Export to DWG or DXF file. This action has been disabled for IRRICAD designs. Use the SAVEAS command or File|Save As option instead.
Note that when opening an Irricad-ised DWG file in plain AutoCAD or BricsCAD the option is given to show the Proxy graphics or not show the proxy graphics. To see the irricad items select "Show proxy graphics".
I trust this helps explain more fully.

Dear Jo.
It worked as you've mentioned with "Save As" command using "AutoCAD 2013 version".
Thanks.
Kind regards.
