file missing?

I was following Jovivier's post regarding

CALIBRATING FOR DIFFERENT SHAPED MONITORS

Most displays, especially CRT's, are not perfectly calibrated for their onscreen sizes. This error is generally inconsequential and can be ignored. There are, however, some cases where the vertical and horizontal errors can be different enough that there is noticeable distortion on the screen: for example, circles appear as ellipses. One common problem is with LCD displays larger than 17". The software drivers for the display can incorrectly report the monitor’s dimensions and a horizontal/vertical aspect mismatch occurs.

IRRICAD can compensate for these errors with two entries in the VCADD.ini file. If you installed IRRICAD to the default path, the VCADD.ini file is located in the Programs folder as follows:
C:\Program Files\AEI Software\IRRICAD Pro 10\

Objects on my screen are quite distorted so I attempted to follow her instructions. However I noticed that I do not have a VCADD.ini file on my laptop anywhere. My old laptop which also has version 10 does. Can I just copy and paste the file between the computers?

I am not sure if this is related but I do know that on my old laptop there was 2 folders, one was IRRICAD and another was IRRICAD Pro 9.5 (which appeared when I upgraded to 9.5)
This new laptop never placed additional folders, but appears to have stopped at 9 (C:\Program Files\AEI Software\IRRICAD Pro 9) though its actually running 10.16. Also laptop only has a couple months of use (running XP) I used the version 9.05 disc to install and patched it up to version 10 before ever opening Irricad. Not sure if it makes a difference, just thought I would mention.

Thanks for your time!

Hi Mike

Not sure where the Vcadd.ini would have gone but it isn't a big problem. I have attached a blank one that you can download and copy into your main Irricad installation folder (C:\Program Files\AEI Software\IRRICAD Pro 9 in your case). Hopefully you can then follow Jo's instructions and have round circles again!

Regards

Phil
