I wasn't sure which message board to post this under, so I am putting it here. Feel free to move it.

I am getting this error message when I try to run a LP on the zones. The problem is, there is not any bends at all in my zones. I am perplexed. Can someone lend me a hand.

Oh, and does anybody know what contact information I can have for support of Irricad. I have called the number on the website several times, but I haven't gotten any answer.

Hi John,

Also, please note that tapes cannot have more than one submain. The same message will appear if there is more than one submain on a tape.

Note that a flushing main can be placed on a Tape Irrigation Block for BOM and fittings purposes without interfering with the design process.

To design the flushing submain under flushing conditions, please read the notes in the User Manual - Advanced Topics, also found in Help|Help Topics in IRRICAD.

Dan, I appreciate that. I will make sure, but I don't think that is the issue. I went to dinner the other night with something on my esc key. When I came back it hadn't finished giving all of the error messages....so...

Jo, I think you hit it spot on. Mike from support, over here, has contacted me. I will be working with him on this issue. However, I am puzzled. If you can't have two submains on one block of tape, how am I supposed to create a looped system? That is what I am trying to create, but I am obviously doing something wrong. The field that I am working on has significant undulation, so we are supplying the tape from both ends. That will also double as our flush manifold.

I have tried to feed from both ends before as well, to try and simulate this. Unfortunately Irricad won't let you feed from both ends with two valves. What you have to do, is create a single block, then split the block in two feeding from both ends as two seperate blocks but running together, with a Guesstimate of where you think hydrauclically think it should be split, you know if you have it right, when the two end pressures of each block are about the same. Then I do a "save as" to create a second file, where I will simulate the block in flushing (as 1 block). This is how I have done it in the past.

I am encountering the same error message when attempting to branch out an Azud drip pipe from an HDPE pipe. Despite adding fittings, the issue persists.

Additionally, I have a query: Why is a bend not permitted in this setup when an elbow can be installed in a drip tube? Could you kindly clarify this restriction?

Hi Nawar,

Are you receiving the message "Branches or bends not allowed..."? Where you have a submain transecting a dripline this will not cause the message however additional junctions, tapes feeding into other tapes, a Misc. Hydraulic item on a tape, or an additional submain will cause this message. I see that your junctions are turned off for viewing as I cannot see a junction at the end of the tape. Turn your JUNCTIONS layer on to check for any additional joins.
Is the little black cross near the submain a Misc. Hydraulic item? If so, this will be the cause of your message and will need to be removed.

Please note that fittings will not affect the hydraulic design or the occurrence of this message.
In Version 21 and older you cannot have junctions or fittings along a tape, only at the ends.

Please note that in the recently released Version 22 there is now the option to treat tapes the same as spraylines and allow for junctions, branches, additional items connected to a tape, and multiple submains.
