Hi folks. Just a couple of little quirks I hope you can help me with:

1. When exiting IrriCAD the program stalls for approx 1 minute before closing or reminding me to save.

2. Running snaps / snaps are not locking onto snap points accurately. The snap box is attracted to further away points or not snapping on accurately.

3. Trim command is not able to trim to 2 seperate boundaries. (Like you would do to trim a circle in half to indicate one line crossing over another).

4. When trying to rotate a leader and text it turns out strange.

5. Also, when working with main pipes, IrriCAD regularly goes into "ortho" mode which can't be toggled out of. If I hold control then it will resume normal mode, but only while I continue to hold it.

Hi John,

1. We have seen occasionally similar issues with designs that contain imported nested symbols (designs based on DXF/DWG import). These symbols can be removed by unloading these symbols in the Draw|Symbol dialog.

2. Remember that Snaps do not have the same tolerances as Running Snap e.g Right-click|Snaps|Midpoint can be found by clicking anywhere on the line, but with Running Snaps, the Midpoint is only found when within the aperture (snap tolerance). The only thing I can think of is that maybe your Snap to Grid option is on.

3. The Trim tool works by trimming to the selected boundary. You cannot select more than one boundary. In the example you gave of ending up with a loop to show one line is crossing another, trim the circle first and then trim the line.

4. During rotating, the text in a leader or any dimension will always align itself as the specifications when it was drawn, e.g. horizontal. This means that an extra line may appear from the end of the arrow line to the text.

5. We are not sure what is happening here but to turn off Ortho Mode, go in to Settings|Drawing to look at IRRICAD's Ortho mode (which is not ticked) and if you go [OK] on this dialog, it will fix the issue. I suspect you are selecting [Cancel] on the dialog because you haven't changed anything.
