How to add a Surgef exception to your antivirus client

Post by jovivier »

If your virus checker has interferred with the IRRICAD installation, it has not installed properly. Symptoms are IRRICAD will keep trying to install when Pro Version 11 runs. (See the Support FAQ - Why does IRRICAD keep trying to install when I run V11? posted 17th August 2011).

Below are instructions for different types of antivirus clients. Select, download and follow the steps of how to add an exception to:

Trend Micro Office Scan.

I'd just like to add to this...I've tried several times to submit surgef.exe to Trend so that it can be added to their "whitelist" of false-positive applications. Their submission wizard never works. If any actual Trend customers out there could try sending this file to Trend you might have some more leverage and do us all a favour by stopping this from occurring in the future.

Thanks!

At long, long last:
Trend wrote:We would like to inform that the detection for the ‘surgef.exe’ file has been dropped meaning that it is no longer being detected as a malware by our virus pattern files.
So if your Trend product is automatically updating, you should no longer need this exception!

Thanks for your patience!

Dan
