Diameters

Post by Polivos »

Hi there

I am having some troubles in my designs, when I design the ZONE, irricad put very shorts pices of pipes (the same lenght as the laterals spacing), is there any way that IRRICAD put no less than 18 mt for example?

thanks

Hi Polivos,

Have you looked at the Settings->Snap->Cut Pipe Tolerance/Cut Pipe Length Factor?

Hi Polivos,

Currently you cannot tell IRRICAD the minimum length of a pipe size however you can limit the number of pipe sizes selected for the submain. In Design|Zone Design Configuration change the "Number of Submain Sizes" from 0 (which means as many as hydrualically required) to a set number, e.g., 3. Then IRRICAD will select up to 3 sizes if it needs to.

Note the "Cut Pipe Tolerance" determines what CutPipe will connect to based on the current zoom and closeness of the laterals.

Hi Jo

I know that I can limit the number of submain sizes, the thing is, in this case I put 4 en the number of submain sizes, and the design still remains with this little pieces, if I put less number, the cost in plastic pipes will increase too much, this is a 150 Hectares design. if it was a smaller design, I would have change this pieces manualy, but in this case is impossible. is there any chance, that for the new releases of the program, i can tell irricad to not to use les than "X" meters for any submain sise? I realy want this because we use the same design for the instalation, so it is not efficient to instal as IRRICAD is designing now.

Hi Patricio

From the way the Zone Pipes changes the diameters & the contour lines it means that you use the LP DESIGN . Check what is the Velocity in the cut pipe before you go to the bigger diameter .
Check the pressure that you get at the Valve in the Zone Design Configuration .
In the Design Parameter put now this number to be your Max Zone Velocity
Run the Velocity Design - If you are out of limits than reduce the Max Zone Velocity and/or reduce the number of Diameter . in such situation you will not get changes of diameters in each Zone Pipe but in a group of Cut pipes
