Hi Jo,
Having a bit of grief with the Winicad.exe file. My power supply died a few weeks ago, had it replaced, all good. The problem is that when I go to open IrriCAD a message comes up saying IrriCAD has encountered an unexpected problem and needs to shut down.
By uninstalling and re-installing IrriCAD I can get the system working however once I shut down the computer then re-start, I need to unnstall IrriCAD and re-install again. All works well until I shut down and re-start, then it is uninstall and re-install again.
Any Thoughts

Ps I am running Windows XP pro, 32 bit, I have added the 11.12 patch

Hi Jim,

I am not sure if this will help you, but after restarting the computer, try right clicking the Irricad icon and "set the program to run as an administrator".

Probably a long shot, but worth trying nevertheless.

Jim,

It is a little hard to know without more information. Are you able to copy the information in the details of the 'unexpected problem'? This may give us a clue.

Can you confirm that once you have re-installed IRRICAD and it runs, if you shut down IRRICAD only (not the computer) does IRRICAD still start up?

Did you log in as Adminstrator to install IRRICAD? (Note XP does not complain like Windows 7 does but the program does not install properly).

It is possible that a Windows security update or automatic program update has caused this. One possible fix is to upgrade to Pro Version 12, which uses more recent development tools and is less likely to have an issue.

Thanks Kosi and Jo, I am away and wont be back until Friday however, I have tried the compatibility mode without success. When I get back I will try the solution suggested by Kosi.
In answer to your questions Jo, I can copy and send the "unexpected problem" report.
Yes, once I have re-installed I can close IrriCAD and re-start ok as long as I don't turn the computer off. It is only once the computer has been shut down that on re-starting that the ":unexpected problem" occurs.
No, I didn't log in as "Administrator" so I will try this and let you know how I go.

Thanks and Happy New Year
