Known Reasons Why IRRICAD Wants to Re-install

There are three known reasons why IRRICAD might want to re-install:-
1. Files are missing from the IRRICAD folder
2. Folders are missing from the IRRICAD folder
3. The IRRICAD folder has been re-named.
1. Files missing from the IRRICAD folder
This most commonly occurs when Suregf.exe has been quarantined by anti-virus software.
Symptoms are IRRICAD wants to re-install when the Database Editor or 3D DEM View is accessed.
Solution: Follow the instructions in the Support FAQS http://www.irricad.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=222 and http://www.irricad.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=250
2. Folders missing from the IRRICAD folder
This most commonly occurs if the Language folder or French and Spanish report folders are removed.
Symptoms are IRRICAD wants to re-install if the Database Editor is run or if IRRICAD is launched by double-clicking on a DES file.
Solution: Uninstall IRRICAD via the Control Panel - Programs and Features and re-install.
Prevention: DO NOT remove any files or folders that IRRICAD installs.
3. The IRRICAD folder has been re-named
If the IRRICAD folder has been renamed it can not be updated with patches.
Another symptom is the Database Editor will want to reconfigure IRRICAD because it cannot find required files in the installed path.
Solution: Uninstall IRRICAD via the Control Panel - Programs and Features and re-install.
Prevention: DO NOT rename folders that IRRICAD installs.
