Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with setting up irricad on MAC OSX with windows running within a virtual machine software.
There are not too many virtual machine options available for MAC so i'm hoping that someone has some experience with setting up either Parallels or Fusion with windows 7 and can advise what the experience is like.
Are there any problems with the licence dongle working correctly or any other issues?
Hope someone out there can help.

Hi Brent,

I don't have any experience with MAC virtual machines, but I have installed and used Irricad in Windows VMs. As you correctly surmise, the important point is that the VM software you use must support virtualisation of your USB ports otherwise Irricad won't be able to find the dongle. Alternatively, for newer MACs (with Intel chipset) you could dual boot to Windows - but perhaps that is defeating the purpose a little!

Please note that MAC Operating System 11 or MAC Operating System 12 are not available with an Intel chip and therefore IRRICAD will not be able to run even under the above options, as the dongle's sentinel driver will not be able to install. For older MACs using an Intel chip you can dual boot to Windows or use the Virtual Machines as mentioned above (Parallels or Fusion).
