SIimulate air and pressure valve

Post by Miguel_l_e »

Good evening, I Need help:

How I can simulate an air valve and a control valve pressure in a main line pipe on irricad

Regards

Miguel

Hi Miguel,

To simulate an air valve enter the item in to the Other Hydraulics component group with only an inlet connection type and size. The new air valve can now be selected via the Zone|Misc. Hydraulic or Mainline|Misc. Hydraulic tool.

Do you mean you want to set the pressure at a point along the mainline? You can do this by using a pressure reducing valve. When creating the PRV in the Other Hydraulics component group enter PRV in the "Fitting Type" field .
The new pressure reducing valve can now be selected via the Zone|Misc. Hydraulic or Mainline|Misc. Hydraulic tool and the required downstream pressure entered in to the screen dialog.

Hi Jo, thanks for the reply, do not understand something, selecting the air valve in Zone | Misc. Hydraulic or Mainline | Misc. Hydraulic tool, this will create some change Hydraulically speaking, ie air valve modifies something in the main line? if actually modifies something like set up air valve in the database.

relative to the pressure regulating valve, yes, I mean that Jo. for example, in a conduction need to regulate my pressure of 60 mca to 35 mca downstream after this pressure regulating valve, you can do this with this valve on a main line? if this can be done as I edit settings in the database.

thanks for clearing my doubts

Regards.

The hydraulic influence of the air valve on the mainline is based on the constant, index, and intercept you use. As IRRICAD will automatically assume a certain amount of pressure loss through the connection to the mainline you may want to set the constant and index for the air valve to 0 if appropriate.

When a Misc. Hydraulic item has the "Fitting Type" as PRV in the database then when this item is used in IRRICAD you will always be asked for the required downstream pressure. If this is always meant to be the same downstream pressure (for example, a 35psi regulator) this cannot currently be pre-set. Include the specifics in the item description so that you know what downstream pressure to input when the item is used on a design.
