Pipe Length zone design

Hi,

When you do a zone design, submain pipes are estimated according to the design parameters. For installation purpose using PVC pipes, the goal is to have the distance of each diameter matching a multiplier of the bar length. We can see that the change for each diameter matches with a certain lateral riser. I can configure roll/length "Pipe matching table" for 6 m PVC bar length.

The length for each diameter (in the drawing) will never be a multiplier of PVC bar length. I could change settings for 0 decimals.

In this case I can get each diameter distance (roll) rounded. But if I install according to this drawing, BOM will never match with drawing layout.

The question is: Is there any way to force each diameter of the submain pipes to be designed to match a multiplier of the pipe roll/length ?.

Hi,

Currently there is no automatic way for IRRICAD to size the submain using complete pipe lengths however we have added it to our User Features Request list.

Jo

Thanks for you respond.
I appreciate you consider this to include in the future.

Hi,
I need to specify the length of the zone pipe elements so that it is a multiple of the length of commercial PVC element ( 6 m)

with kind regards

This is already on our feature request list for consideration. However, as it is not a straight-forward process to include rolls/lengths in the pipe sizing rationalisation and may take considerable programming time we have not added it before now. It may be that is available in the future however at this stage we do not have a time frame.

One manual way you could do this now is:-
1. Set the number of submain sizes in Design|Zone Design Configuration .
2. Run LP Design.
3. Draw a marker such as via a line, circle or arc with the required length against the submain. Using circles or arc will immediately provide a marker perpendicular to the measuring line. Then using Select|Lasso highlight the relevant pipes to change to the required size.
