Hi Jackson,
Inserting blocks is not an intrinsic Irricad function, but part of AutoCAD. I would say though I have seen numerous posts in AutoCAD forums from people having trouble with dynamic north arrows.
Perhaps this link will help:
To Work With North Arrows

Hi again Jackson,
Sorry - it has been brought to my attention that there does seem to be an indirect issue with our database symbol block definition (DWG) files. The problem appears to be that the file has exactly the same name as the block definition it contains, which triggers some sort of limitation within AutoCAD. We will have to address this in a future release or patch, but the easiest fix in the mean time is to rename the block file - e.g., change North.dwg to North1.dwg.
Thanks,
Dan
