I recently upgraded to V17 from V16, and now all saved Irricad files have no icon. There is no entry in the default apps for .dez files either. The files still open into Irricad as expected, though. I added the file type manually via Settings>Indexing Options>Advanced>File Types, and the extension showed up in the Default Apps, but when I assigned Irricad to the extension, it would not accept it.

Re: .dez not listed in Default Apps
You can re-establish the Irricad file association in Windows 10 by right-clicking a .dez file and choosing the "Open With", then "Choose another app" option. Remember to also select "Always use this app to open .dez files" to make the change permanent.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: .dez not listed in Default Apps
Thanks for the reply Dan.
I've already done that. The behavior is very strange. I can still click on a file and Irricad will open it by default, but there is no icon and the .dez extension still doesn't show in the Default Apps setting.

It sounds like you may not have permissions to change the necessary registry entries. Does that sounds like a possibility?

Re: .dez not listed in Default Apps
I was thinking it has to be a registry issue. I should have all the permissions I need though. I looked in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT directory and there is no entry for the .dez extension. I ran a repair on the Irricad installation and it still didn't fix the issue. I'm going to try and do a full uninstall/reinstall now.

Re: .dez not listed in Default Apps
I found another odd behavior...
It looks like the process that windows uses to choose the default app from the "Open With" menu is acting up. A new process pops up every time I specify Irricad to open a .dez file.

Re: .dez not listed in Default Apps
Another update,
I was recently at the Irricad training held at Nelson and had v17 installed alongside v16 on my laptop while I was there. Everything worked fine and I had no issues. I just recently upgraded my dongle to v17 and that's when all of these issues popped up. So far all of the issues have been on my desktop computer.
I decided to try and uninstall v16 on my laptop since I don't need it installed anymore. After uninstalling, the exact same thing happened. The .dez association was removed from Windows and the files have no icon. I have to specify the use of Irricad every time I try and open a file whether I select to "always use this program" or not.
