cutting tapes

Post by turbofergy »

Hello

I have a large block that is split by an angular drain through one end. The farm manager wants to cut the tape along the drain. is there a method of making the whole block a tape entity and laying out the lands and headlands then cutting the tapes (spraylines) to suit.

Thanks

Hi Kyle,

If I understand the situation correctly there are two efficient ways I can think of doing this:-

1. If you already have individual tapes present the best way is simply to use Cut Lasso and cut out the tapes crossing the drain. Then both sections can be submained (using Cut Pipe) and valved as required.

2. If individual tapes don't yet exist use Tape Irrigation Block and draw two separate blocks with specified headlands and sidelands, one on each side of the drain. These block entities can have automatically placed submains and valves, if you wish to use that facility, and each block can be further subdivided if required.

Note that if you already have a tape block entity you won't be able to tell it to subdivide along an angle that is not shared by one of the borders.

If this does not help you please feel free to email your design to Support@IRRICAD.com for more specific advice.

Thanks for your reply. Cut lasso was what i was looking for. Due to the drain line and the block configuration the latter option was not aligning properly on either side of the drain.

Thanks

To delete or move items in an Irrigation Block hold the Shift key down during the operation.
