Contour labelling

Would it be possible to have a tool for labelling contours at the point where i click on the contour line rather than the point that Irricad decides. Better still it would be great to be able to draw a poly line and have a label placed at each intersection point enabling me to easily label contour around the outside of a property.
Perhaps this could be a more general labelling tool (not specific purely to labelling contours).
