Error when importing from GE

Post by PSWI »

Hello,

I am encountering new problem when trying to import from Google Earth. First, I receive a "The remote server returned an error (403) Forbidden". Upon clearing that window, it follows with a second "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". The import from GE used to work, but recently started doing this. It then brings the GE image into my drawing, but I am unable to calculate contours. The other thing that is out of the ordinary is when selecting my window in GE, the GE satellite imagery is shaded darker than normal.

Any idea on what is going on?

Thank you,

Will

Hi Will,

Google has introduced some changes where all users wishing to download their elevation data need to have an API key and set it up for billing. However, Google offer the first $200 per month free of charge, which should be more than enough data for an individual user. Please see our forum post http://www.irricad.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=607 for the steps on how to do this.

I already had my API key entered, but somehow it was no longer saved. I entered our API key back where it belongs and now it is working again.

Thanks!
