The use of IRRICAD Link (or standalone) is controlled by the dongle so there is no licence to transfer (simply install Link and plug the dongle into the other computer).

Note that you probably will need to transfer the licence of the CAD host program (AutoCAD or BricsCAD). This is normally done in the "Help" menu - "About ../Manage License" in AutoCAD and "License Manager" in BricsCAD.

Hi Kyle,

Trying running BricsCAD v18 first before running the Link install, otherwise Link will probably think you don't have BricsCAD v18.

(BricsCAD tends to remember which version and profile you last executed)

Hi Kyle,

Just to confirm...
  • You have BricsCAD v18 and BricsCAD v19 installed?
  • You can run up both versions, and the last one you ran (and closed) was v18?
  • You are trying to install the Link v16.06 full package for BricsCAD v18, not the Link v16.13 patch?
  • When you run the Link install, it can't find the BricsCAD v18?
If the above are true, can you check your registry? The Link install looks at:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bricsys\BricsCAD\CURVER

to find which version of BricsCAD you have. This should be V18x64, if v18 was the last version you ran.

Dan

The above were true and the registry was correct.

Thanks

Hi Kyle,

Not sure what else to try. Could you please screen shot the error message and send it to support at irricad dot com?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Kyle,

This could be occurring if BricsCAD was not installed under an Administrator log-in. In these cases the registry will not contain the information that the IRRICAD Link install requires.

The method to correct for this is:-
1. Log out and then log in as Administrator.
2. Uninstall BricsCAD v18
3. Re-install BricsCAD V18 64 bit.
4. Now install IRRICAD Link V16 for BricsCAD v18.
5. Install the latest patch from http://www.irricad.com/upgrades-patches/.
