Hello!
I would like to know how to simulate a gravity system correctly.
for example:
- Water source: 125m
- Piping with an inner diameter of 70.5 mm
-Length: 401 m
-Reservoir: 100 m
What is the flow that arrives in the reservoir with a difference in level of 25 m.
Which hydraulic item should I use to represent the water supply?

Re: Gravity system
For a gravity system use a water supply as the water source. The "Design Head" and "Maximum Head" can be set to zero (0) in IRRICAD Versions 15 and later, or to a small positive head in older versions. Note that if the water source is expected to maintain some pressure or height of water then this pressure could be entered instead, for example a tank standing 2m high may be filling at the same time and therefore the Design and Maximum Heads could be entered as 2m.
To simulate open pipe flow see our Tips forum post 58. A mathematical approach for creating a ‘nozzle’ for an open pipe flow, that takes into account the pipe size (viewtopic.php?p=2302#p2302).

Hello!
Could you send a generic example of a gravity pipeline?
I couldn't run the simulation!

Re: Gravity system
Here is a small generic example:-
Water Source at the top of the hill set to 0m head.
Pipeline with junctions at important contours (or a constant slope will be assumed) .
Required outlet and nozzle at the bottom of the hill.
Versions 15 and later can open this design.
