Irrigation Design without actual laterals

Post by rupali@2011 »

Hi Irricad Team,
I am working on Irricad for Community Irrigation Projects in India.
It is quite time consuming task that is why I am looking for short procedure for design.
Is it possible in Irricad to do designs without actual lateral laying, this will possibly reduce time of laying laterals to around 20,000ha area and thousands of blocks.
or any other way you might knew already.
Looking forward for your help and guidance.

Thank you.

Hi

One approach would be to use Mainline demand points to represent each zone in terms of flow and required pressure. You may also need to fully draw and design a small number of zones to determine the requirements for the demand points, if these aren't known. Note that in these types of design, specifying the demand points using an area and application rate is an advantage as it makes it much easier to change the flows globally (see "Previous Additions and Bug Fixes > In Version 17/ Specifying Demand Using Application Rate" in the Help menu.
