I recently upgraded from 10.0-ish to 10.58. During the upgrade process, the drawing template we use was "corrupted".
Essentially, certain uses of text in the template become corrupted somehow, and lose anchor points. What happens then is that if I zoom out on a drawing with this issue, there will be visible horizontal lines extending far off to the right and left of the drawing, and using the select area tool to select the drawing with a window that is just larger than the template may not actually select the drawing.
In it's corrupted form, if I bring the drawing into print preview, I can't select "always center drawing" because the drawing is then centered about some point (not the center of the template) that includes the corrupted anchor points. This also occurs when I use the Zoom All tool, Irricad zooms out enough to include the "invisible points".
I have found that creating a symbol of text as a seperate file, and then bringing the symbol in when building the template alleviates some of the issue. Also, exploding the template after bringing it into a drawing seems to remove the invisible corrupted anchor points. Most specifically this corrupted text appears with the symbol and pipe legends, but in other text included in the template.
Again, exploding the template seems to be a kludgy solution to this issue, but not something I can expect the office's other users to trifle with.
Additionally, I've been having an issue (perhaps an input queueing issue), where Irricad crashes when I use the move tool. Especially if the timing is tight between me pushing ctrl to turn on ortho and selecting a base point to move a selection. I've also found I can get Irricad to crash almost immediately if I zoom in and out of a drawing (mouse wheel) quite a few times in rapid succession, and then try to move something. Hard crashes too, where it asks if I want to send an error message to microsoft.

Re: Vector Text Bug
After more experimentation, I've found that creating a seperate symbol of the text I want in the layout doesn't always mitigate the issue.
Primarily though, the issue appears in the legends.

Re: Vector Text Bug
Thanks for the detailed report - it is most helpful!
With regard to the template, would it be possible to send a copy of the broken template symbol file (*.vcs) and an example of a 'broken' design to support@irricad.com? We can see if that gives us any clues as to what is happening.
In the meantime, does remaking the template with a different (non-vector?) font fix the problem?
Following your lead, I have also found an issue with the move tool, which is likely to be the cause of the crashes you are seeing. It is something to do with the dynamic pan tool (wheel press), which is easy to use accidentally while working at speed and trying to scroll (wheel move).
I found this sequence to cause a crash:
1) Draw something
2) Select it
3) Select the move tool
4) Before picking a move reference point, click and hold the wheel and pan the object.
5) Click to pick a reference point and Irricad crashes.
I'll look into this further and we'll try to get it patched as soon as we can.
Thanks again,
Dan

Re: Vector Text Bug
I'm about 90% certain I haven't been using the mouse scroll button at all (wasn't even aware the button was mapped to dynamic zoom). In addition, the scroll button on my mouse is pretty stiff, making it unlikely I'd depress it enough to activate it.
I still have the move tool crash issue just from zooming in and out a lot on a drawing, and then trying to move something. I can also get Irricad to crash after creating a copy array of points and then moving selections of the points around the drawing.
I am sending support a copy of the template we use. Thanks for the suggestions!

Re: Vector Text Bug
Well, I just redid the template using some font called VC_swiss (with no asterisk next to it), and checked the fill font box.
Seemed to work, I didn't have any of the corruption issues I'd been having. I had previously been using Arial.
