Creating a new line style

Post by Rob Leng »

Is it possible to create a new customised line style? I do not find any of the existing line styles distinctive/suitable for represnting a fence and fences are a common feature on my plans.

Additionally, If it were possible to have certain (selected via check box) line styles and their names appear automatically in the plot template legend so as to identify them on the design plan it would be a great thing. This would also mean that it must be possible to rename the line styles to what the designer wants ie "Title Boundary", "Fence", "Overhead Power Cable" etc.

Hi Rob,

The "Linetype.vclnt" file found in your Irricad installation directory is an XML format text file that defines the line styles. You can add or edit lines by editing that file - following the format of the existing line definitions (dashes and spaces).

As for the plot template, in the short term, you could add segments of dummy pipe to the plan that have the appropriate line style assigned to them.

Hi Gilary,

At present you can only create lines as patterns of dots, dashes and spaces.
