Zone Cut Pipe not Connecting on Some Drip Lines

Post by Davemo »

Hi,

I have a query regarding the zone cut pipe option for the lateral lines. Here is the scenario: There are some irrigated areas that are irregularly shaped and whenever I try to make a drip block from this, there are some spaces that has been left out for the drip lines. To fill out this void lines, I would draw a line and offset it with the same spacing as other drip lines, and convert it to a drip tape (by selecting the line ans the click on the drip tape button) so that it can be a hydraulic entity. Now, since the drip area has void spaces, I cannot place the zone pipes automatically. What I do is use the cut pipe option and then place the lateral across the drip tapes manually. That is where the problem come in, it does not connect to the drip lines that I have drawn. Even if I use the zone pipe option (not cut pipe) and connect them individually to the drip line by snapping it perpendiculary, it doesn't connect. I tried every way there is but to no luck I can't resolve the problem. I appreciate if someone can help me.

Thanks!

Dave,

It sounds like you might be in "Place" mode rather than "Connect" mode. The second panel from the right in the bottom right hand corner of the status bar will tell you (click the panel to change modes).

Hi Dan,

It is in the connect mode. But its seems it does not connect even if it is in this mode. I also tried connecting sub-main to sub-main but it does not connect also.

While I was sorting out things regarding this, I noticed that it does connect but only on junctions (i.e. mainline junctions, zone pipe junctions). It does not connect on main line pipes/zone pipes when I used the option: snap to perpendicular/midpoint, etc. on another mainline/zone pipe.

Hi Dave,

I've tried every combination I can think of to try and replicate this problem - but it always seems to work!
Can you confirm which version of Irricad you are using, and if possible send us a small example of the problem? (you can mail a zipped design to support [at] irricad [dot] com)

Alternatively, a detailed step-by-step to replicate the issue would be useful too.

Regards,

Dan

Dave,

Do you have a selection filter enabled? That might cause this problem.
