simulate pressure regulator

Post by aquacg »

Hi, is there a way to simulate a pressure regulator or "jumper" in a drip tape if you are dealing with a field that has too much elevation to bring the pressure back into an acceptable range along the drip tape? If so, can Irricad account for this in the design and total flows?

Thanks.

Also, how can I see what the exact pressure is at any point along a drip line lateral?

You can have a pressure regulator at the start of each tape by enabling the "Regulated" check box.
However to have a pressure regulator part way down a dripline you would need to simulate the tapes as spraylines as tapes cannot have junctions or branches. There are notes on simulating tapes as spraylines in the User Manual > Advanced Topics.

There are a couple of ways you can see the pressure along a dripline:-
- using Hydraulic Gradeline - highlight a tape and select Reports|Hydraulic Gradeline. Your cursor will move between emitter positions and the status bar on the window will report the actual pressure.
- for a more complete overview use Reports|Show Zone Pressure Map. First select the valve to create the pressure map. You can also set custom limits to show the pressure variation within your specified criteria.
