Irricad V14.1 Slow

Does V14.1 run a little slower than V13? When creating tape irrigation blocks & creating spraylines, irricad takes longer to draw each tape into place. Therefore whenever any changes are made to the tape irrigation block, it has to redraw the tapes. It becomes a hassle when making changes to block dimensions or subdividing blocks and waiting for irricad to re calculate each time. Version 13 did not have this problem.

Also, is there a way to lock the background image so that it is not selectable? In V14.1 the background image seems to get selected unintentionally a lot more than it did in V13.

I might have solved my own question. I think I might have a VCADD error which might effect the speed of irricad. Does this sound possible?

Version 14 is actually faster than Version 13. Please check the VCADD.ini file in the folder where Version 14 is installed, commonly located in C:\Program Files (x86)\AEI Software\Irricad Pro 13. You can edit the VCADD.ini file in Notepad. Check that it does not have the lines "NTSize" and "NTBase". The file should only contain:-
[VCDefaults]
HorzCorr = 1
VertCorr = 1

(note the numbers may not be '1' if changed for larger font sizes on high resolution screens).


Regarding the image selection this is a function of the new CADD engine used with Version 14 and unfortunately we have no control over this.

Are you saying that V14 VCADD.ini is stored in the V13 file location (C:\Program Files (x86)\AEI Software\Irricad Pro 13) ? I don't see any folders for V14.

When you upgrade IRRICAD the new program is installed into the existing IRRICAD folder. This could be an Irricad Pro 13 folder, or any Irricad folder based on the first full installation.
If you have more than one IRRICAD folder Version 14 will be in the latest one.
