regulate on submains

Post by jeremyN »

Hi,
I have tape block entities with valve at the highest point and the submain that goes toward downhill ( high slope). Is it possible to place a downstream pressure regulator ON the submain at a particular location?

thx

Hi Jeremy

Yes it is possible to do this (assuming you mean a single regulator that is in-line in the sub-main). The process is relatively easy:-

1) Add the regulator (if it isn't already there) into the "Other Hydraulic" tab of your database and set the fitting type to PRV (see the IRRICAD Database Editor Manual > Irrigation Components - Details of Individual Groups - Other Hydraulics for details).

2) Now simply select the regulator from the "Zone/Misc Hydraulic" menu, specify the required downstream pressure and locate it where you wish. (see the User Manual > Entering Information into IRRICAD->Using Misc Hydraulic Items).

3) Make sure that it is located in-line (you will need to zoom in to do this) in a sub-main segment and not connected at a lateral junction.

Regards

Phil
